![]() ![]() ![]() My provider is AT&T and am using an Arris NVG599 router. One more point. However, the router was always fine before when set in automatic mode for the channel. I've reset the printer configuration to match the wireless router.I see no printer in the MacOS system preferences window and do not see the printer's name on the wi-fi popup.HP is now saying the Bonjour setup needs to be re-established on the router. the printer worked ok for awhile, but it again had issues once the power went out and the router rebooted. HP was not very helpful, but did login to my Mac to check it out (with my permission) and was able to suggest a router change to use a specific channel and not use the automatic setting which had always worked before. HP Envy no longer in wi-fi list on 10.13.6 After installing MacOSX 10.13.6, I began to have issues on an irregular basis with a new HP ENVY Photo 7155 printer. Thanks so much to anyone who can help with this. So my question is: how can I get my printer to take the wifi signal from the Airport Express instead of the router in the house? This conclusion is backed up by the fact that in the printer's wifi settings, it currently says the signal strength is 11%. My conclusion: it's taking wifi signal from the Sky router in the house as opposed to the Airport Express right next to it. It might print a few lines of a document, then wait for a minute or two, then another few lines. It worked! My Canon printer was now connected to my Airport Express. No problem, I thought - I can use its wifi functionality.Īfter HOURS of trying to work out how to set it up I eventually found a solution, which involved opening Airport Utility, clicking on the Airport Express, selecting the Base Station menu at the top of the screen, adding WPS printer and then using the PIN code method. Unlike my old printer, this one cannot be connected to the Airport Express box via USB (I don't know why not - something to do with Catalina compatibility?). However, when my old printer gave up the ghost and I bought a new printer (the Canon TS6251 mentioned above), the printing problems started. One problem solved: I now have great wifi speed and strength (70Mbps) in my office. Because the unreliable broadband signal was driving me mad, I bought a second hand Apple Airport Express on the advice of a friend, and cabled it to my office with an ethernet cable, thereby extending my wifi network.Īs you may know, when connecting an Airport Express to a non-Apple router, the only way of making it work is giving it the exact same SSID / network name and password. I have a garden office which is at the outer range of my home (non Apple) wireless router (it's a Sky router). I have a Canon TS6251 multifunction printer. I have a 2017 Macbook Pro running Catalina. This is my first time posting on here I hope someone can help because this problem is driving me mad! ![]()
